Tammy co-stars Melissa McCarthy and Kathy Bates are reteaming for a new comedy about an ex-convict attempting to revamp her image.
The Bridesmaids actress will play the titular Michelle Darnell in the film and Bates her eccentric mentor.
McCarthy’s character is convicted for insider trading and attempts to rebrand herself following a jail stint (sound familiar?).
McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone, who directed and co-wrote Tammy with his wife, will return to take charge of the movie, which he also penned with his wife and their frequent comedy collaborator Steve Mallory.
The movie is set to shoot right here in Georgia, with reports saying filming will begin soon. Although Tammy wasn’t met with rave reviews, the plot for this film sounds hilarious and we have faith in Melissa to not make the same mistake twice.
