Morena Baccarin to Star Opposite Ryan Reynolds in ‘Deadpool’

Morena Baccarin has officially landed the female lead opposite in the X-Men spin-off Deadpool.

The Emmy-nominated actress reportedly beat out the likes of Orange is the New Black actress Taylor Schilling, Vikings star Sarah Greene, Arrow‘s Jessica De Gouw, Red Band Society‘s Rebecca Rittenhouse and Teen Wolf regular Crystal Reed for the role of Reynolds’ leading lady, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to Reynolds, who is reprising his role of the comic book killer following his appearance in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Baccarin joins previously cast T.J. Miller and Gina Carano for the project, which is slated to begin filming next month.
