Joel Kinnaman Confirmed for ‘Suicide Squad’

Fury director David Ayer has found his Rick Flagg- Joel Kinnaman has been confirmed as Tom Hardy’s replacement in Suicide Squad after weeks of negotiations.

Hardy dropped out of the project in January, prompting a frantic search to find the Squad’s leader.

Kinnaman was always the frontrunner, and now the Robocop star has confirmed he’ll be Flagg in a statement that reads: “All I can say is that I’m going to be in the movie, and it’s going to be amazing.”

Kinnaman joins a cast that already includes Will Smith as assassin Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis.

Suicide Squad is scheduled for a 2016 release.
