Matthew McConaughey Helps Promote Video Store
Matthew McConaughey joined funnyman Jimmy Kimmel to promote an Austin, Texas video store during a TV skit on Monday night.
The movie star, who was born in nearby Ulvade, was a guest on Kimmel’s late-night chat show on location in Austin and he agreed to do some extra work to help the owner of local store Vulcan Video boost business.
Wearing a Vulcan T-shirt and a cap with his signature phrase ‘alright’ printed on it, the Interstellar star urged film fans to “quit scrolling, quit streaming, start dreaming about VHS”.
In another skit, he joked about sleeping in the store’s parking lot after picking up a warped video cassette.
McConaughey said, “I come in when they first open in the morning, which was noon… Human service from (owner) Brian. He said, ‘You know what? I’m gonna give you something for your inconvenience last night; I’m gonna give you The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 3 with Renee Zellweger and (me) for half price’.”
