‘Mad Men’ Bench Unveiled in New York

The cast and fans of TV show Mad Men will have a permanent reminder of the drama in the form of a bench that has been erected outside the stars’ fictional office building.

The tribute was unveiled on Monday outside the Time & Life Building at 1271 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, New York, where the show’s Sterling Cooper & Partners ad agency is based.

Jon Hamm, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery and Elisabeth Moss joined Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner to become the first people to sit on the bench.

In addition, nearby streets were temporarily renamed in honor of the show, including Mad Men Avenue and Don Draper Way, a tribute to Hamm’s lead character.

The final season of the show will begin on April 5, and coincide with a Museum of the Moving Image exhibition in Queens, which features Mad Men props, sets and costumes.
