‘Pretty Little Liars’ Showrunner Marlene King Talks Tonight’s Finale

The woman that many Pretty Little Liars fans hold responsible for being the reason they need time in Radley, Marlene King, recently took some time to chat about what’s in store for tonight’s big finAle.

King revealed a few things we need to know before watching tonight’s explosive finale to Entertainment Weekly, including why now is the perfect time for this reveal to happen. “We always knew what this outcome would be. We always knew who this person would be, but we didn’t know [when]. There was a feeling toward the end of last season—it really felt like we had tested their patience for as long as we could, and this is exactly what they deserve to see and the right time to tell the story.” She certainly hit the patience-nail on the head.

One of the big mysteries of the show is not only figuring out who -A is, but trying to figure out what the -A hierarchy is and how many -A’s there are total, but it doesn’t seem like fans will get that answer tonight. “This is the person who stole the game from Mona.” But when EW asked her if there is also an Uber A, in addition to Big A King said, “I’m not going to tell you just yet because that might ruin it down the line. I’m not going to comment on Uber A.”

Although Uber A’s identity probably won’t be revealed until the show’s final season, from the sound of things tonight’s reveal will make way for more answers to be given sooner rather than later, which is great news because there are SO. MANY. QUESTIONS. “This Big ‘A’ reveal brings us to the final 10 episodes of this story that we have been telling for the last three seasons,” King said. “And every question you want to ask me about those three seasons will be answered in the next 11 episodes.”
