Masi Oka Will Be Returning for ‘Heroes Reborn’
Masi Oka, best known to Heroes fans as Hiro Nakamura, will be returning to reprise his character for the TV hit’s reboot, Heroes Reborn.
“I’m excited to return to my Heroes roots. Hiro was such an inspirational role to play, and I’m hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV.” Oka says.
Series executive producer Tim Kring adds, “The character of Hiro Nakamura was such a huge part of the first series’ success, and a gigantic fan favorite. We felt the fans would really love seeing him back in action again.”
Jack Coleman will be returning as well for the reboot alongside new cast member and Chuck star, Zachary Levi, but don’t expect to see new mom Hayden Panettiere returning.
“It’s a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, ‘That was our show, our home, our family,’ something that we had a major part in creating as well, and, I mean, I hope that they don’t have somebody else playing our characters, that would be a little dagger in the heart. But, you never know. I wish them success in it, for sure.” Panettiere commented when she first learned of the reboot last spring.
Ali Larter also has revealed that she will not be returning either, saying, “At this point, I think I’ve heard that Jack (Coleman) is coming back, but I’m committed to Legends. I’m on series, so I don’t have the time to work on another project. Not that I didn’t love Heroes and loved working on it, but I’m just at a different stage of my life. I’m super excited and proud to be a part of this show and working with Sean Bean and an incredible cast.”
