Chris Hardwick Developing ‘Nerdist News’ Series with Syfy

Talking Dead host and Nerdist Industries CEO, Chris Hardwick, has a new project in the works with Syfy. Hardwick is teaming up with the network to producer a weekly Nerdist News series according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hardwick is not expected to host the half-hour series, but he would serve as an executive producer alongside Nerdist collaborator Brandon Monk.

The series is said to focus on the latest trends in sci-fi, fantasy, technology, science and more. Jessica Chobot currently hosts the YouTube series, though a host for the Syfy project has not yet been named.

Syfy did try a similar project last year fronted by Wil Wheaton, The Wil Wheaton Project. The series, which also examined sci-fi, TV, gaming and nerdy news, was cancelled after 12 episodes.

If the project does move forward, this would mark the third network that Hardwick is currently working with – including Comedy Central’s @midnight in addition to AMC’s The Walking Dead talk show series, Talking Dead.
