Happy ‘Lost’ Day Everyone!

Lost fans will never be able to escape 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. Every time we see those numbers, or even just a few of them in order, we remember the years that we were driven mad by them. What did they mean? Why did they show up everywhere? The explanation that Lost left us with was a little disappointing to some. Spoiler alert if you haven’t watched Lost yet – they corresponded to the potential island protectors that Jacob was considering.

In 2008, series co-creator Damon Lindelof commented on the numbers in an interview with USA Today, “The purpose of the show wasn’t about the answer to what the numbers meant.”

Meanwhile, fans disagreed, we wanted answers to everything. But whether you loved or hated the ending of the ABC series, you can recognize that today is an important day for Lost fans. Today is 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. So set the alarm on your phone for 4:23:42 p.m. and celebrate with a Dharma beer! Or just a beer can with a Dharma logo printed out and stuck to it.
