‘Wonder Woman’ Snags New Director

Wonder Woman has found itself a new director after losing Michelle MacLaren earlier this week.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Patty Jenkins has signed on to replace MacLaren, who exited the project on Monday due to creative differences. Jenkins isn’t new to the world of feature film directing, having made her debut with Monster, the film that not only completely transformed Charlize Theron, but also won the star a Best Actress Oscar.

The director also received recognition for her work on the pilot of AMC’s The Killing, nabbing an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

Jenkins was previously tapped to helm Thor 2 for Marvel Studios, but will now become the first female director to helm a film of this size in Warner’s DC universe.

Wonder Woman will star Gal Gadot, who will make her first appearance as the heroine in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and is slated to hit theaters in 2017.
