‘Vampire Academy’ Star Dominic Sherwood Heads to ‘Mortal Instruments’ Series
ABC Family has found one of its leads for the upcoming TV show based on popular book series The Mortal Instruments.
Dominic Sherwood, whom you may recognize from Taylor Swift’s “Style” video or teen film Vampire Academy, has been cast as the narcissistic, and lethally gorgeous, Jace in the ABC Family TV series, titled Shadowhunters.
According to the network, Shadowhunters will follow the story of 18 year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is. As book readers may know, Clary comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.
Sherwood’s character Jace is a determined and expert Shadowhunter. A skilled soldier in a war against demons. After his father is killed, Jace makes it his life mission to seek revenge on the man who is responsible. Jace was portrayed by Jamie Campbell Bower in the failed film series.
