‘Once Upon a Time’ EP Admits ‘Emma Crossed a Line’

Emma Swan made a decision that could change everything about her in last night’s episode of Once Upon a Time.

SPOILERS AHEAD! (You’ve been warned)

The savior was tasked with the decision of whether or not to kill Cruella De Vil, who kidnapped her son Henry and was threatening his life. Unbeknownst to Emma, Cruella couldn’t actually kill anyone, but forcing Emma to have to make a decision like that was all part of Rumplestiltskin’s grand scheme of turning the child of true love to the dark side…and surprisingly enough, it seems to have worked. Emma did end up killing Cruella and, judging from the look in her eyes at the end of last night’s episode, the act may have set off a chain reaction within the heroine.

“The audience should be very, very concerned that Emma has irrevocably headed down a path,” series co-creator and executive producer Adam Horowitz told TVLine in an interview.

Horowitz went on to stress the dire consequences of Emma’s decision. “If you thought Emma was in danger of going dark from learning what her parents did [to Maleficent’s daughter Lily], now we have to deal with the danger based on her own actions…Emma crossed a line.”
