Netflix Renews ‘Daredevil’ for Second Season

Marvel’s Daredevil, Netflix’s new highly buzzed about superhero series, has been renewed for a second season less than two weeks after its premiere.

The network has confirmed that the show will return in 2016, but one major change is that it will be returning with two new showrunners. Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy)worked closely with, and will be stepping in to replace, Steven DeKnight.

Ramirez, Petrie, the show’s original showrunner Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will serve as executive producers.

The series follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

In addition to Cox, Marvel’s Daredevil stars Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, Ayelet Zurer.
