MTV’s ‘Scream’ Casts Former ‘True Blood’ Star
Former True Blood actress Amelia Rose Blaire is heading to MTV’s Scream.
TVLine broke the news today, reporting that the actress has landed the recurring role of Piper Shay, “the smart, quirky host of a wildly popular podcast who comes to town to investigate the recent deaths.”
Some of you may recognize Blaire as True Blood‘s Willa Burrell, daughter of former Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell and progeny of vampire Eric Northman. She played a major role in the series during its sixth and seventh seasons and now she’s taking her talents to a set filled with a new world of horrors.
The network recently released a trailer for the series that gives fans a new look at what to expect. You can watch it here.
Scream also stars Willa Fitzgerald as Emma, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Audrey, Carlson Young as Brooke, Amadeus Serafini as Kieran, John Karna as Noah, Connor Weil as Will, Tracy Middendorf as Maggie and Jason Wiles as Sheriff Hudson.
According to the MTV, the series picks up when a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder. The shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens – with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart – become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who’s out for blood.
Scream premieres Tuesday, June 30th at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
