‘Fright Night’ Documentary in the Works

Welcome to Fright Night……for real.

1985’s Fright Night is one of the most loved horror films of the past few decades and has always been a fan favorite. We even did a review on the recent Twilight Time blu-ray review for it (here) which is now sold out, which should speak to the movie’s popularity. It even garnered its own reboot in 2011. With such a following, it was only a matter of time that somebody produced a film about the making of Fright Night. That time has finally arrived.

A year or two ago, a group of filmmakers created a documentary about Hellraiser titled Leviathan from a Kickstarter project that has gained a ton of support and is releasing on video in about a month. So, now they have moved onto a new project with You’re So Cool Brewster!: The Story of Fright Night, a feature length film that will serve as the ultimate insight into the making of the cult classic movie as well as a tribute to the late Roddy McDowall, who played Peter Vincent in the original film.

And they’re not going at it alone; they’ve got the support of original Fright Night writer and director Tom Holland, who is also producing the documentary. The Story of Fright Night will feature detailed interviews with those who helped shape and create this much loved movie including new behind the scenes stories including footage and images from Tom’s personal archives.

So far only a teaser trailer has been released, which you can check out below. You can also follow the progress of the documentary on Facebook.
