New Photo of ‘Suicide Squad’ Star Jared Leto as The Joker Is Pretty Disturbing

We now have an idea of how Jared Leto will look as legendary super-villain the Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad film. The answer is: pretty freaky.

The film’s director, David Ayer, tweeted the picture in celebration of the Joker’s 75th anniversary saying, “The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics.” The photo shows a maniacal looking Leto with caps on his teeth, the Joker’s signature pale skin and green hair and a hint of purple in the villain’s glove.

The director previously revealed a glimpse of Leto as the Joker, with part of his face obscured by the Nikon camera he’s holding.

In addition to Leto, Suicide Squad‘s cast includes Will Smith as assassin Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, among many more.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
