‘Once Upon a Time’ EPs Talk Season Finale, Zelena/Robin Hood/Regina Triangle and More

Once Upon a Time head honchos Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis spilled some secrets about what’s in store for our favorite Storybrooke characters now that the season is wrapping up.

The duo sat down to talk with The Hollywood Reporter and addressed what’s in store for Regina and Robin Hood, the role the theme of motherhood will play in Sunday’s episode and what cans can expect in the upcoming 2 hour season finale.

The biggest bombshell Once has seen in a while was dropped last Sunday, when Regina and Emma found out Zelena had tricked Robin into impregnating her while she was glamoured to look like Marian…confusing enough for ya? Well, luckily we won’t have to wait to get back into the baby mama drama of it all. “This Sunday we’re going to get into all the mama drama. We are going to get a big, juicy, Robin Hood-Regina, “What the hell do we do now?” scene in a bar in New York City,” said Kitsis.

With the revelation that Zelena performed the magical equivalent of rape on Robin, it’s a fair assumption that she’s become the shows one competely unredeemable character. Kitsis feels the audience still shouldn’t write her off. “What we’ve tried to do on the show is no one is completely good and no one is completely bad. We’ve had Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) do something horrible and Rumple do something beautiful. Where Zelena ends up is truly up to her.”

Finally, when the season finale airs on Sunday May 10th, it sounds like fans may be in store for another curse of some sort. Maybe one to give the baddies happy endings, therefore making the goodies baddies? Kitsis had this to say about the finale:

“We certainly are setting up for what next season would be at the end of the finale this year, but we’re doing it in hopefully a different way than we’ve done before. It’s probably a little more reminiscent in a way to season one, where a condition [was set out] that magic is coming, versus having a new villain of the year or a journey to a different world. It’ll be in a slightly different a way, but hopefully just as earthshaking or changing than we’ve ever done, if not more so.”

The two also revealed that we’ll be seeing August again in the finale and that appearances will be made by the Blue Fairy and the dwarves, “but in ways we’ve never seen them before.”

Tune into a new episode of Once Upon a Time, Sunday at 8pm on ABC.
