Kate Beckinsale will reprise her iconic role as the vampire Selene in the upcoming installment of the Underworld series, Underworld 5.
The actress has officially signed on to reprise her role as badass female vamp Selene in the fifth (fifth?!) installment of the series. Part 5 is full of girl power, with Anna Foerster directing and marking the first time that a woman has directing the action-horror franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Cory Goodman wrote the script, whose plot details are being kept shut in a coffin but which is said to focus on a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races.”
Also said to be returning to the next installment is Theo James, who appeared in 2012’s Underworld: Awakening and who you can currently catch in the Divergent series films.
There’s no word on whether or not India Eisley will return as Eve, the hybrid daughter of Selene and Michael Corvin.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Prague this October.
