Janice Dickinson Suing Bill Cosby for Defamation
Janice Dickinson is suing Bill Cosby for claiming she lied about her 1982 sexual assault.
The former supermodel came out accusing Cosby of sexual assault in November of last year and is now planning to take the former comedian to court for defamation, false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according PEOPLE.
“Janice Dickinson, like over three dozen other Cosby victims, recently publicly disclosed that she was drugged and raped by Bill Cosby,” Dickinson’s lawyer writes in complaint obtained by the mag. “In retaliation, Cosby, through an attorney, publicly branded her a liar and called her rape disclosure a lie with the intent and effect of revictimizing her and destroying the professional reputation she’s spent decades building.”
The star previously opened up to Entertainment Tonight about her experience, alleging that the assault happened when Cosby invited her to Lake Tahoe, California, where he was performing, so they could discuss her career and a possible role on his hit comedy The Cosby Show. She went on to claim that he offered her red wine and a pill when she complained of stomach pains over dinner, and everything went downhill fro there.
