‘American Horror Story’ Alum Jessica Lange Teams Back Up with Creator Ryan Murphy

Jessica Lange may have made her exit as American Horror Story‘s star, but it looks like she’s still #1 in Ryan Murphy’s heart.

The pair are set to re-team in the Broadway production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night, which is being produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Murphy.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lange will play Mary Tyrone, a recovering morphine addict. The production will be directed by Jonathan Kent, with Tony nominee Gabriel Byrne playing James and Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. appearing as Edmond.

Lange previously announced her departure from American Horror Story at Paleyfest in March saying, “We’ve had a great run. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I loved the writers, actors, Ryan, the whole insanity of it, the stories, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, everything… To cut to the chase, yes, I’m done.”

Long Day’s Journey Into Night begins previews on March 31, 2016, with hopes of the actual opening taking place on April 19.
