Jesse Eisenberg Kicks Serious Butt in ‘American Ultra’ Trailer

Jesse Eisenberg is kicking butt, smoking weed and taking names in his latest film American Ultra.

The movie pairs him back up with his Adventureland co-star Kristen Stewart and follows stoner Mike and his girlfriend Phoebe as they try to stay alive after it’s revealed that Mike is a government sleeper agent who’s been activated. Now he’s being hunted by other government agents and it’s up to him to figure out his abilities and keep himself and Phoebe safe…all while getting high along the way.

The film was directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) and written by Max Landis (Chronicle). The trailer itself has the wild feel of Project X, but the plot takes more of a Pineapple Express route, combining super high main characters with tons of action, a genre that naturally comes with equal amounts of laughs and drama.

We never thought we’d say this about a Kristen Stewart flick, but this actually looks pretty awesome!

The film also stars Connie Britton, Walton Goggins, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman and Tony Hale.

American Ultra hits theaters August 21.
