Aca-Awesome! ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Is a Go

After the success of Pitch Perfect 2, Universal has confirmed that there will be a third installment of the franchise.

Rumors that the third film was already in development have been circling and the studio confirmed the three-quel is heading our way in 2017 today via Twitter with a tweet reading, “The aca-gods have spoken. #PitchPerfect3 is coming July 21, 2017!”

It also looks like stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will be returning for the third film. Kendrick confirmed her return with a tweet as well.

It will be interesting to see how the story continues, since we saw the majority of the Barden Bellas graduate in Pitch Perfect 2. It’s previously been reported that “Universal and Gold Circle were smelling a franchise when they made sure to lock in series newcomer Hailee Steinfeld for a follow-up.”
