'Girl Meets World' Sneak Peek - Episode 2.09: Girl Meets Hurricane

This week is an exciting week for Girl Meets World fans who grew up on Boy Meets World, as another character from the past makes their return.

Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) was the ladies man of Boy Meets World. Cory Matthews was the sweet, dateable good guy and Shawn was the hot, bad boy best friend who changed girls like he changed underwear…until he met Angela (Trina McGee). Everyone thought Shawn had finally found his Topanga in Angela, and although the two shared a rough relationship, we all wanted them to end up together. Unfortunately in the end, we learned there can only be one Cory and Topanga. Shawn and Angela parted ways, never seeing each other again…until this week.

Like creator Michael Jacobs mentioned at this year’s ATX Fesitval, “Shawn found Angela from a purse that contained items that he loved and so he fell in love with this girl in high school. The relationship lasted into college. But it could not have been more clearly defined that Angela had a choice. That Shawn wanted to ask Angela to marry him, which would have been wrong…Are they happy? Remains to be seen. Is what becomes of them both satisfying? I believe so because it’s real.”
