Girl Meets World was a fun mixture of cute and emotional last Friday, with Shawn getting some closure from an old flame and he, Maya and Katie growing closer in the end.
While we didn’t necessarily think there was anything wrong with Maya’s style in the first place, we loved seeing the petite teen be so excited about something that didn’t involve troublemaking for once. Watching she and Shawn bond was pretty adorable and, while some of us would have preferred to see Angela get a better returning episode, we love the fact that Maya has found a father figure in Cory’s soulmate.
Both girls looked adorable in the episode, so let’s move past our Shawngela disappointment and take a look at our favorite styles:
We absolutely adored Riley’s colorful skirt and harness belt. The flared fit mixed with the bright colors and shorter length made it a fun piece, and the harness belt gave what could have been dressed up as a very adult skirt, a fun teen feel.
Because the episode touched so heavily on Maya’s makeover with Shawn, we have a few different pieces of hers to get through, most of which are surprisingly affordable!
The first outfit up was the first new outfit up on the show too. Maya looked adorable in her black mini-dress with the white Peter Pan collar and it was easy to tell Shawn thought the same. (Did we already mention how much we love watching him slip into the role of father figure?)
Forever 21’s Peter Pan Collar Dress sold for $28.00 and is currently sold out, but you can take a look at their other equally fashionable dresses with peter pan collars here.
Next up is one of Maya’s new outfits, a vibrant kimono top and cute victorian era inspired babydoll shirt, with an on-trend fedora.
Maya’s fun Floral & Bird Print Kimono ($22.00) is currently sold out, but Forever 21 has tons (and we mean TONS) more great ones that you can take a look at here.
Maya’s ‘Victorian White Wedding’ Turtleneck by Free People ($98) is currently sold out, but Forever 2 has a similar one on sale now for $20.
Finally, Maya’s hippie chic look complete with suede fringed jacket and floral mini skirt proves that everything that becomes old in fashion will be new again at some point in time. You have to admit she looked super cool in her long fringe and vibrant floral brocade skirt with subtle metallic threading.
