Empire‘s second season is going to be filled with guest-star goodness! We already know the likes of Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Adam Rodriguez and others are set to join the cast in the next season, and now it’s been confirmed that former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland will be making an appearance in a surprising role.
The singer has been confirmed as a guest star on the second season of the hit drama and will be playing the mother of Empire‘s fallen leader, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard)! The star will (obviously) be appearing in a flashback, meaning fans will get the chance to see a little bit of the head Lyon’s upbringing and maybe get a look into how he turned into the cold, calculated success that he did. It also means we’ll get to see a baby Lucious, which I’m all for (hopefully we get a baby Cookie at some point, because that clearly needs to happen).
Rumors of Kelly’s involvement in the new season started flying when she was spotted hanging with the show’s writers in June.
