‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Kat Graham Talks Bamon, Her Favorite Scene and More!

Everyone in The Vampire Diaries has been through more trauma than we can even imagine having to deal with, including Kat Graham’s character Bonnie Bennett.

When the show returns, however, Bonnie is finished making sacrifices and is ready to take her life back into her own hands. Kat Graham took some time during this year’s Comic-Con visit to talk to press about what else they can expect from the little witch that could, including how Elena’s indefinite slumber will impact the friendship between Bonnie and Damon, what Bonnie is feeling when we return and Kat’s favorite scene from the most recent season, among other things.

Bonnie and Damon developed a strong friendship after their time together in the past, but that friendship will be put to the test when the pair are forced to deal with the fact that the only reason Elena isn’t around is because Bonnie is alive. Prepare for the bad boy Damon we know and love to make a return. “You’re dealing with how Damon was when he lost Katherine. The original Damon. The original badass, so it’s kind of the same thing in a weird way with Elena. Of dealing with someone that has kind of lost, for a moment, the love of his life,” said the actress. “You’re going to see that they both have their issues with each other, which isn’t anything new but they’re actually dealing with it….You’re going to see them dealing with each other in a very direct way.”

Kat also mentioned her favorite scene to film from the emotional sixth season and it’s probably not the one you’d expect.

“One of my favorite scenes was the suicide scene, where she was going to kill herself. I wanted to put my own, it wasn’t suicide, but it was something about the actual show that I’d been dealing with in my own life, and I wanted to put that in the show because that is what I was dealing with in the moment. I was really proud that the character was able to make that full turn.”

See what else Kat talked about, including a deeper look at Bonnie’s emotions and goals in the new season, in the full Comic-Con interview below:
