Star Trek Producers Hold Open Auditions For Unique Extras
Producers of the new STAR TREK film are looking for people with “unique” looks to star as extras in the movie.
Odd-looking extras will get the chance to play Star Fleet military cadets in the film which centers on the early experiences of Captain Kirk and his team.
The invitation to the casting session says, “This is an epic project and we are looking for the most intriguing and interesting faces to integrate in this film.
“Everyone must be thin, athletic, fit; wardrobe will be form-fitting. All hair lengths on males and females welcome.”
Auditions are being held on Saturday (10Nov07) in California for people with odd characteristics such as “long necks, small heads, bug eyes, large foreheads and oversized ears”.
Other features the production team is looking out for are large heads, wide or close-set eyes, facial deformities, over or undersized ears and noses, pronounced cheekbones or ultra perfect or ultra plain-looking people.
They must also agree to have their eyebrows shaved to make them ‘Vulcan’
shaped.
The film, to be directed by Lost creator JJ Abrams, will be released in December 2008.
