Candice Patton and John Wesley Shipp Talk ‘The Flash’ Season 2

At The Flash press tables this year at San Diego Comic Con, the press was afforded the opportunity to sit down with two of the actors who play the characters closest to Barry’s heart: John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen and Candice Patton as Iris West. You can watch the full interviews below, but here are a few of the highlights.

When season two starts up, we’re going to see an Iris who is still pretty devastated by the death of her fiancé. However, now that Iris is in on Barry’s big secret, she’s going to be working with Team Flash more and more. We’re going to see her taking on the role of Ace Reporter, getting into trouble and using her contacts on the street to help out the team. (Sounds very Lois Lane to this less-intrepid writer.)

It sounds like we’ll also be seeing a lot more of the family dynamic in the West household, as well as Iris and Caitlyn each finding a new bestie in the other.

As for Henry Allen, Shipp let us know that this season is going to be quite a ride. We may not have seen Henry on screen very often in season one, but each of those appearances was at an important moment. Look for more of those coming up in season two. According to Shipp, there’s a real “passing the torch” feeling in all of his scenes with Grant. (For those not in the know, John Wesley Shipp wore the red suit himself in the 1990s series of the same name.)

The Flash returns to the CW on October 6th!
