This Week on Hulu: ‘Difficult People,’ ‘Doctor Who,’ and ‘Mr. Robinson’

Hulu has a number of new additions and new seasons that have arrived. We have a complete list below of all the new TV shows that were added starting August 5th through what will be added next Tuesday, August 11th.

 

Wednesday, August 5th

DIFFICULT PEOPLE – SERIES PREMIERE (Hulu Original)

Back-to-back premiere episodes.  “Pilot”:  Billy and Julie come up with an entrepreneurial scheme to sell bottled “library water-fountain” water and Julie gets in trouble for a controversial tweet. “Devil’s Three-Way”:  Julie seeks out an old high school crush, and brings him to bed with her and Arthur. Meanwhile, Billy finds a father-figure in Denise’s husband, Nate.

 

CMA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL: COUNTRY’S NIGHT TO ROCK (ABC)
Filmed during CMA Music Festival in June, the special features many of today’s most exciting Country Music stars, including Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Randy Houser, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Maddie & Tae, Kip Moore, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker, Cole Swindell, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Young, and Zac Brown Band as they hit the stage during the four-day party and celebration of America’s music.

 

Thursday, August 6th

MR. ROBINSON – DOUBLE EPISODE SERIES PREMIERE (NBC)

As lead singer and keyboardist of a rock band, Craig knows a thing or two about working the crowd, but his day job is where he really makes thegrade. Every struggling artist knows the drill: you have to pay the bills while you wait for that big break. So when Craig finds himself short on cash, he takes a job as a substitute teacher.

 

A WICKED OFFER – SERIES PREMIERE (CW)

Couples must decide whether or not to complete controversial tasks involving unsuspecting friends, families, and co-workers for cash prizes. Each challenge will test “moral and ethical boundaries” of everyone involved, and couples must decide how far they’re willing to go for money.

 

Friday, August 7th

THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART – STEWART’S FINAL EPISODE (Comedy Central)

Since January 11, 1999, Jon Stewart has been host of the Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning The Daily Show. He will be leaving the show after 16 years and over 2,600 episodes. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart concludes with an extended episode.

 

THE NEXT STEP – COMPLETE SEASON TWO (Canadian Import)

Follow the lives of a group of elite dancers at The Next Step Dance Studio as they train hard, rehearse and hang out. With the regional championships coming up, the A-Troupe needs to come together if they want to win and qualify for the national title.

 

Saturday, August 8th

TIM & ERIC’S BEDTIME STORIES – SEASON ONE (Adult Swim)

Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories is an anthology series in the tradition of Twilight Zone. Each episode offers a unique tale: dark, horrifying, perverse, insane… hilarious – featuring a wide array of comedic and dramatic guest stars.

DOCTOR WHO– SEASON EIGHT (BBC)

One of the longest running programs in television history, Doctor Who follows the adventures of an eccentric Time Lord and his courageous companions throughout all of space and time.

 

Monday, August 10th

YOU’RE THE WORST– SEASON ONE (FXX)

You’re The Worst puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre. Narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive “Jimmy Shive-Overly,” played by Chris Geere (The Spa), thinks all relationships are doomed. Cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn “Gretchen Cutler,” played by Aya Cash (The Wolf of Wall Street), knows that relationships aren’t for her. So when they meet at a wedding, it’s only natural that the two of them go home together and, despite their better judgment, begin to find themselves falling for each other.
