Idris Elba Is the First Male to Land Solo ‘Maxim’ Cover and We’re Like ‘Yes!’

Idris Elba has landed the first male solo cover of a Maxim magazine.

The handsome star gives readers an intense, sexy stare from the cover of the mag, a space which is usually occupied by half-naked starlets, making him the first man ever to have his own cover and spread in the publication. The 42-year-old Avengers: Age of Ultron star sat down to talk with the mag about not playing Bond, music, sex and more.

We won’t make you wait any longer. Check out the full cover below:

Idris Elba Maxim

We’re loving everything about Elba’s cover, from the cover line that reads “Man Up. Idris Elba: Actor, Musician, Racecar Driver, and All-Around Badass,” to his dapper, leave-it-all-to-the-imagination style.

Idris’ most current project, Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation, a Netflix original movie which follows the journey of a young West African boy who is forced to join a unit of mercenary fighters and transform into a child soldier. Elba plays the commandant of an African child army, known only as Commandant.

Beasts of No Nation will premiere on Netflix October 16th.
