Golden Compass Still Leading The Way At Global Box-Office

Controversial family film THE GOLDEN COMPASS is the world’s most popular film for a second week, after taking a further $29 million (#14.5 million) at the international box office over the weekend (14-16Dec07).

The fantasy movie, which stars Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, proved the most popular film in cinemas outside the U.S., where its total haul now stands at $90 million (#45 million).

Before it’s release, Catholic leaders urged the faithful to boycott the film because of its apparent anti-religion message.
