Golden Compass Still Leading The Way At Global Box-Office
Controversial family film THE GOLDEN COMPASS is the world’s most popular film for a second week, after taking a further $29 million (#14.5 million) at the international box office over the weekend (14-16Dec07).
The fantasy movie, which stars Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, proved the most popular film in cinemas outside the U.S., where its total haul now stands at $90 million (#45 million).
Before it’s release, Catholic leaders urged the faithful to boycott the film because of its apparent anti-religion message.
Will Smith’s I Am Legend debuts at two at the international box office, with $20 million (#10 million), while animated hit Bee Move sits at three.
