‘The Hunger Games’ Star Mahershala Ali Joins Marvel and Netflix’s ‘Luke Cage’

Mahershala Ali, who has appeared in both The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2, is getting ready to take on an entirely different role in Netflix and Marvel’s upcoming series, Luke Cage.

The actor, also known for his role as Remy Danton in House of Cards, has joined the cast of the third Marvel show to debut on Netflix. Ali will play Cornell Stokes, aka Cornell Cottonmouth, in the series. According to EW, in the series “Stokes owns a nightclub in Harlem and his illegal operation will bring trouble to Cage’s world.”

Ali announced the news with a short, but sweet Instagram with a picture of his new alter ego and post that reads “2016 #cottonmouth #lukecage #marvel.”
