‘Doctor Who’ EP and Stars Talk ‘Bigger’ Season 9 in New Featurette

Doctor Who returns this month and Whovians all over can expect a bigger, more action-packed season according to the show’s boss and stars.

A new video titled “Introduction To Series 9 – Doctor Who” gives fans a closer look at the upcoming season of the long-running series, sitting down with head honcho Steven Moffatt and stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman.

“This series is the glory years of the Doctor and Clara,” states Moffatt in the video. “They’ve been through the angst. The Doctor’s been through his fear that he might not be a good man. Clara’s been through her fear that this might not be the Doctor and now they’re linking hands and running forward toward a brand new world of adventure.”

Meanwhile, Peter Capaldi reveals that fans can look forward to being taken “across the universe and to all kinds of dark and terrifying and funny places.”

It seems that this season won’t be without its tear-jerking moments as well, with Moffatt warning, “Last year maybe sometimes you felt slightly discomforted by it. This year you’ll be grinning more…at least until we wipe the smile off of your face.”

Doctor Who returns with a two-parter, “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar”, September 19th, 2015 at 9/8c on BBC America.
