A New ‘Mary Poppins’ Film Is In Development
Disney is developing a new Mary Poppins musical whether you like it or not.
The original film, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, was released in 1964 and now, like a lot of Disney’s other classics, will be revisited.
According to Variety, “the new film will take place in London 20 years after the first film and will take storylines from the P.L. Travers’ children books focusing on the magical nanny’s continued adventures with the Banks family.” Disney has tapped their Into the Woods team, Rob Marshall, John DeLuca and Marc Platt, to direct and produce the sequel.
So how have fans of the classic been reacting to the news? We’ll let you see for yourself:

Please God, tell me they're not trying to milk #marypoppins even more. Leave her alone, and get back to milking #StarWars and #Marvel more.

Why do we need a sequel to Mary Poppins? It's been over half a century for God's sake!
