Ernie Hudson to Appear in Paul Feig’s ‘Ghostbusters’

Ghostbusters has landed a cameo from the final surviving Ghostbuster, Ernie Hudson aka Winston Zeddemore.

News of Hudson’s cameo makes him the third and final living original Ghostbuster (Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler, passed away in 2014) to be confirmed as a guest appearance in the third installment. Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray’s returns were previously confirmed, but all three of the Ghostbuster’s roles are being kept under wraps.

The female-led film is being directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones as the new Ghostbusters, along with Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Chris Hemsworth and Neil Casey.

Ernie’s former Ghostbusters co-star Bill Murray admitted to having a great time on the set of the new version. “You know, they were incredibly nice to ask me, and I really enjoyed being there,” the actor said. “They have such a jolly group, and they are going to have great success with this project. I didn’t want to overshadow [them] or anything, and I feel really good about it.”

The film’s release date is currently set for July 22, 2016.
