‘Twin Peaks’ Log Lady Catherine E. Coulson Dead at 71
Catherine E. Coulson, the actress known for her role as the beloved Twin Peaks‘ character Log Lady, has died at the age of 71.
The actress passed away after her battle with cancer Monday morning. Coulson was best known for her role in the David Lynch TV series, but was also a dear friend of producer/director’s. The pair first worked together on Lynch’s 1977 film debut Eraserhead, in which Coulson was credited as assistant director.
“Today I lost one of my dearest friends, Catherine Coulson,” Lynch said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “Catherine was solid gold. She was always there for her friends. She was filled with love for all people — for her family, for her work. She was a tireless worker. She had a great sense of humor — she loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was a spiritual person — a longtime TM meditator. She was the Log Lady.”
The Twin Peaks revival is currently filming and Coulson was due to reprise her role as the Log Lady when the show returns in 2017 and we know that the project will now be forever changed without her presence.
Our thoughts are with Coulson’s friends and family at this sad time.
