Film Directors Union Finalizes Deal
The U.S. film directors union has finalized its contract deal with movie and TV studios after less than a week of negotiations.
The three-year pact between the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers was approved by the majority of members in a ratification vote – although the DGA will not reveal how many of its 13,500 cast ballots.
The contract goes into effect on 1 July (2008), covering directors, assistant directors and unit production managers.
