Taylor Swift has been ruling the pop game for some time now, but the star is aware that her over-saturation in the media and the industry as a whole could be a bit much for people, revealing that she’s considering taking a break after her 1989 tour wraps.
“I think I should take some time off,” she revealed in a new cover story interview with NME. “I think people might need a break from me. I’m going to… I don’t know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”
Swift’s rise to the top has been steady, but wasn’t met without a few bumps along the way. Most recently the star made tabloids for getting into a bit of a Twitter spat with rapper Nicki Minaj (although the two proved they made up to the world with a performance at this year’s VMAs), but admits she learned a lot from the exchange with the rapper.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she said when asked about how she felt when the feud began to blow up in the media. “But I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone’s management, I get their number and I text them. It’s an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015.”
Through all the ups and downs, the star has still maintained her good girl image.
“It’s not about trying to be perfect,” she said. “Not to try and sound like the good witch in The Wizard Of Oz or something, but I really do want to do good things with what I have, and that’s it. I don’t think my brain could cook up very shocking things for the sake of being shocking.”
