‘Ant-Man’ Sequel Set for 2018 Release

Marvel’s minuscule hero Ant-Man will return in 2018 for another adventure in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Along with the name of the Ant-Man follow-up, Marvel has also revealed that fans can expect the movie to hit theaters on July 6, 2018. The sequel will see Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) fighting side by side with Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and marks the first Marvel film to be named after a heroine.

Marvel’s Ant-Man was a huge success, earning $178.5M domestically and $231.5M internationally for a global total of $410M. It is currently the #9 film of the year domestically, and opens in its final international market, China, on October 16.

If you can’t wait until 2018 long to see Ant-Man on the big screen again, fear not. The tiny crime fighter will make an appearance in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.

Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s 2018 release date means shifting the calendar for a couple of other films. Marvel’s Black Panther moving up to February 16, 2018 and Marvel’s Captain Marvel moving to March 8, 2019.

The studio also announced release dates for three untitled Marvel Studios films, which will head to theaters on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and Nov. 6, 2020.

Mark your calendars and let the countdown(s) begin! Which upcoming Marvel movie are you most excited to see in theaters?
