Sopranos Movie Being Planned
A movie version of TV hit THE SOPRANOS is being planned – according to the
owner of the real life strip club made famous by the show.
Fans and cast members have been clamoring for a seventh season or a
feature-length version of the series since the Emmy award-winning mob drama
came to an end last year (07).
Creator David Chase has kept tight-lipped about rumors of a return.
But Nick D’Urso, who owns the Satin Dolls club in New Jersey – known in the
Sopranos as the Bada Bing – has been tipped off the cameras are returning.
D’Urso won’t reveal who told him, but he has canceled plans to renovate the
lapdancing club so it still resembles the club owned by mob boss Silvio Dante –
played by Steven Van Zandt.
He says, “I got an inside tip that they’re going to do a movie, so I don’t
want to make any major changes. I’m not going to reveal my sources, but we got
a call from somebody (working) on the script.”
Just this week (02Mar08), speaking at the launch of castmember Lorraine
Bracco’s new wine, Bracco and co-star Dominic Chianese called for a Sopranos
movie. Bracco – psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi – said, “I would love it. I’m up
for it. Call me.”
Chianese – who plays patriarch Uncle Junior – said, “I’d be game. Uncle
Junior cold jump out of his wheelchair.”
