‘The Walking Dead’ Star Sonequa Martin-Green on Sasha’s Reformed ‘Crazy’ Ways

Every member of Rick’s group in The Walking Dead has shown that they cope with loss in their own ways. Last season, when Sasha (played by Sonequa Martin-Green) lost her brother Tyrese (Chad Coleman) and her boyfriend Bob(Lawrence Gilliard) in a short period of time, fans learned that her grieving process included going a little cray-cray andstaring Death in the face yelling “I wish you would!”.

Sonequa stopped by Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) to talk about her character’s current mental state, which is much better off than it was for the majority of last season (praise Him!) .

“I have realized that I was crazy, that I was acting like a crazy person,” she told the station. “The veil has been lifted. I’ve seen myself, and I realized that I should be ashamed for the way I behaved and I need to honor the ones that I’ve lost and actually try to live life they way they did instead of living it like some psychopath — psycopath against walkers, but still very unnatural and perverted behavior. I’ve seen the light, if you will. And I’m ready to honor Tyreese and honor Bob and serve this community.”

Find out what’s ahead for Sasha in Sunday’s new episode of The Walking Dead, airing at 9pm on AMC.
