‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Reportedly Heading to Netflix
Alright Gilmore Girls fans, it’s officially YOUR turn to jump on the revival train! Are you sitting down? Netflix is reportedly in the process of bringing back your favorite Stars Hollow residents for a limited series run (a la The X-Files).
TVLine broke the news, reporting that “Netflix has closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival of Gilmore Girls penned by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino.”
Negotiations with the cast are all reportedly still in the works, but the revival leaves room for all of your Gilmore Girls favorites to return including: Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory), Jared Padalecki (Dean), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Keiko Agena (Lane), Danny Strong (Doyle), Liz Torres (Miss Patty), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), John Cabrera (Brian) and more!
Back in June, the entire cast reunited at ATX Television Festival and we were lucky enough to be in attendance, as well as chat with series star Scott Patterson.
In fact, Patterson may have been correct when he chatted with us about the series and his opinions on whether or not it would work now saying, “I think it’s timeless. Especially now with everything being so gritty, life becoming grittier and with this show you have this meadow of daffodils in the middle of the summer, which is Gilmore Girls, you can sort of spread out. You feel safe in it, and nothing horrible’s going to happen. I mean it’ll get a little emotional, but that’s as far as it goes. It’s about longing and yearning for love, it’s about family, it’s about maybe what America is yearning to become once again at a greater percentage.”
We know you’re excited, so let it all out in the comments below! Are you excited to finally hear what the last four words of the series were intended to be?
