Jane Lynch Will Host 2016 People’s Choice Awards

Jane Lynch has officially been named as host of the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.

The comedian, best known for her role as acerbic coach Sue Sylvester in Glee, knows her way around the award show, being a four-time People’s Choice Award nominee herself (and winning for Favorite TV Comedy Actress in 2011).

While Glee may have wrapped for good, Lynch has found her next hilarious role in the upcoming comedy Angel From Hell. In it, Lynch plays Amy, a colorful, brassy woman who insinuates herself into the life of an organized and seemingly perfect young woman, Allison (Maggie Lawson), claiming to be her “guardian angel.”

“As a people myself, I’m thrilled to take on hosting duties of the only awards show that celebrates the choice of the people!” said Lynch about her hosting gig in a statement.

Last year’s PCAs were co-hosted by Mom stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney and we can’t wait to see what kind of tongue-in-cheek jokes, crazy gags and unexpected moments that we can expect from Lynch during her turn as host.

The final nominees across all 65 categories of the People’s Choice Awards will be announced at the annual Nominations Announcement Press Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

The People’s Choice Awards 2016 will air live from the Microsoft Theater, Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at 9PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network
