‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Ian Somerhalder Says Damon Flashback Episode Almost Killed Him

Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham recently chatted with us about this Friday’s upcoming Damon flashback episode. Kat actually calls the episode some of Ian’s best work ever! While Ian revealed it was a physical struggle for him as an actor.

“There’s a really cool flashback episode for Damon coming up,” Kat referenced this Friday’s episode. “It really is incredible. Really incredible. Some of Ian’s best work ever, so I’m super excited for you guys to see that.”

“Ultimately you really get to see where Damon Salvator came from. You get to see his profound relationship with his mother. You really get to understand how he got to be the man he is,” Ian told press. “That episode almost killed me. I lost 6 pounds from Monday to Friday. But it was magical. It was amazing.”
