Supergirl star Melissa Benoist’s former Glee co-star and real-life hubby Blake Jenner is joining the cast of her new hit CBS series.

The pair played breakup-to-makeup-to-breakup couple Marley and Ryder in the FOX series, fell in love and got married in real life, and will now be reunited onscreen as potential love interests.

According to TV Line, Jenner is set to play Adam Foster, who is described as “a handsome stranger from Cat Grant’s (Calista Flockhart) past.” Foster may stir up some trouble between Cat and Kara when “Adam and Kara form a very unexpected connection.”

It sounds like Kara’s love life is about to get super-complicated. Currently on the show, the superhero is dealing with the return of James’ ex Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum).

“She and Kara are friends, Lucy’s not some total diva b****y ice queen,” the actress told Zap2It. “Lucy loves Kara .. she has not even an inkling of an idea that there is a relationship between Kara and James, so she really looks at Kara as an ally. She just moved to town, she doesn’t have any friends, she has good intentions for Jimmy and she thinks Kara is such a great person — she genuinely wants to be her friend.”

The casting of Jenner lets us know that she won’t stay down about the new development with James for too long…although Foster maaaay not be the best choice of men to move on to.

Look out for Jenner to appear in Supergirl starting in 2016.
