McG Speaks Out In Defense Of ‘Good Guy’ Bale

TERMINATOR SALVATION director McG has jumped to CHRISTIAN BALE’s defense after a string of recent reports surfaced stating the actor is aggressive and difficult to work with.

Filmmaker McG has spoken out in support of the actor, who was arrested earlier this week (ends25Jul08) over claims he assaulted his mother and sister on the eve of The Dark Knight premiere in London.

Bale has also been accused of being difficult and temperamental on set of the latest Terminator film, with reports stating he flew into a rage after Shane Hurlbut, the film’s director of cinematography, allegedly messed up a shot.

But McG has dismissed the stories, insisting Bale is a great actor to work with and a “good guy”.

He says, “He’s the most professional, passionate actor you’re ever going to find. I mean it’s just that simple Bale is just all about the work. He loves his wife, he loves his child, he loves being an actor.

“I can’t go, ‘Okay, Christian, you go out camera left. Christian’s going to talk to me you know – ‘What went into the decision to go off camera left?’ – which is wonderful. It’s the elegant opposition you want.”

The moviemaker adds, “And just for the record. he’s a big-hearted, good guy – and I’ve worked with a lot of people – and that’s just simply who he is.”
