Watch ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ Beautiful Opening Title Sequence

Fans can now take a sneak peek of the opening credits for MTV’s new fantasy series The Shannara Chronicles.

The series, based on the Shannara books by Terry Brooks, is set thousands of years in the future and follows three heroes, Elf-Human hybrid Wil (Austin Butler), Elvin Princess Amberle (Poppy Drayton), and Human Rover Eretria (Ivana Baquero), as they embark on a quest to stop an evil Demon army from destroying the Four Lands.

MTV has released the show’s beautiful official opening title sequence featuring powerful and stunning visuals of the post-apocalyptic world of Shannara, with artist Ruelle’s hit song, “Until We Go Down,” playing behind it. There’s also a new promo for the series focusing on the magical Ellcrys Tree, which plays a vital part in the tale.

The show also stars genre favorites John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings) and Manu Bennett (Spartacus).

The Shannara Chronicles gets a a special, two-hour premiere on Tuesday, January 5 at 10:00 PM ET/PT immediately following the return of MTV hit series Teen Wolf at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
