Jared Leto is confident that his Suicide Squad take on the Joker will make even the Jokers that came before him proud.
The star took to Instagram to post a meme of former iconic Jokers, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, with the words “Don’t worry, Leto will make us proud.” It seems that the star is uber-confident on his turn as the infamous Batman villain.
With regards to his experience playing the Joker, Leto told Empire magazine, “There was definitely a period of…detachment,” Leto explains. “I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my prick hole.”
In addition to Leto, Suicide Squad‘s cast includes Will Smith as assassin Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and many more.
Suicide Squad heads to theaters on August 5, 2016.
