“He’s Just Not That Into You” Beats Out “Coraline” At The Box Office

* HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU ON TOP AT U.S. BOX OFFICE New romantic comedy HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU has soared to the top of the U.S. box office chart, taking in $27.5 million (£18.7 million) in its opening weekend (07/08Feb09).

A star-studded cast, including actresses Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore and Ginnifer Goodwin, take on the roles of misguided women helping each other cope with dating disasters and disinterested men in the movie.

The film knocked Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace’s action adventure film Taken to the number two spot, taking in $20.3 million (£13.8 million) in its second week on the chart.

Teri Hatcher and Dakota Fanning’s new stop-animation film Coraline debuted at third, with $16.3 million (£11.1 million) in earnings; meanwhile, Steve Martin’s The Pink Panther 2 opened at number four, taking in $12 million (£8.2 million).

Kevin James’ comedy was knocked from the number two spot to five this week, with an additional $11 million (£7.5 million) in earnings – making the film’s four week total $97 million (£66 million).
