The project was announced in April 2015, and was described by the network as “reimagining of the campy horror feature, which, 40 years after its release continues to play in theaters around the world – the longest theatrical distribution frame for any film in history.”
Also joining the cast of the musical are actor and singer Staz Nair as Rocky, Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark) as Riff Raff, one of Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s loyal servants. Cox was announced as the latest incarnation of the sweet transvestite back in October 2015.
